Transport for the North Freight and Logistics Strategy
Transport for the North (TfN) has appointed Mott MacDonald and MDS Transmodal to produce the UK’s first pan-regional freight and logistics strategy.
Following on from a successful conference held on October 1st, we have developed a draft strategy informed by stakeholder consultation which highlighted the strengths and opportunities, constraints and issues and the interventions, developments and investments that are needed to maximise the north’s attractiveness as a place to invest in freight and logistics.
As part of the finalisation of the draft strategy, stakeholders were invited to a conference on Thursday 14th January 2016 at Leeds City Museum from 10.30am to 3pm. The conference provided the representatives of the freight and logistics sector with an overview of the draft strategy and sought their views on the various interventions aimed at delivering the industry’s potential, and how these could be delivered. Feedback from the conference will be used to finalise the strategy in early 2016.
